20&22 - Cosmology

Where did we come from? On a grander scale, where did the universe come from. Cosmology is the branch of astronomy that attempts to answer this question. Cosmology examines the universe at its largest scales - scales so large that we consider galaxies and galaxy clusters to be points. With cosmology, we study both the entire universe and subatomic particles and the fundamental forces of nature at the same time. The Big Bang theory says the universe was created in a ginormous explosion of space-time some 13 billion years ago and has been expanding ever since.
