Tue 11/19 - Start reading chapter 5 and begin work on homework problems. Mon 11/18 - Review the technical writing tips document below. After reviewing, each teammate will read their partner's part of the paper and make comments/suggestions based on the technical writing tips. Be sure to switch to Suggesting mode so I can see the comments you make on each others' writing. Wed 11/13 - Students should finish their slide deck and submit a link to it by the end of class to the Trello page. If students are done with the slide deck they may begin work on their technical paper excerpt. The students don't write a complete technical paper, just a two page, single-spaced, excerpt. The students should negotiate with their partner which part of the project they will write (AU vs. Power Sources). Then each student must submit the following.
Here is a link to the scientific paper document template in Google Docs format. Students should save a copy of this template in their personal Astronomy google drive and then begin editing it with their content. Students have the rest of the week to work on their writing excerpt and should submit a rough draft by Sunday. Tue 11/12 - Students should begin work on their project slide desks. The slides must be in Assertion+Evidence format with in-depth slide notes. The partnerships should swap their area of focused from what they did on the posters. So if a student worked on the AU for the poster, they are responsible for the Power Sources part of the slide deck. Rough draft of slides should be posted to the Trello Board by end of class on Wednesday 11/13. |
