2:40p Update

okay, what do you guys think of this?

This is using Microsoft Whiteboard for Surface and Screencas-o-matic.

I very much dislike the sound of my voice, but I suppose you all are used to it. I think my breathing is a bit distracting, but hey, I'm not a trained voice actor.

Anyway, this seems to work for me. I'll practice a bit more and then try recording some actual content...

~~~~~~~~~
The results from the survey are:
75% want to finish chapter 3 online and then start review.
75% can do "school level" of participation, while the rest can only commit to "homework level".
Most of you can do video conferencing from both a technological and time-commitment level.
To help support everyone, I'll do the following:
1. record lectures for balance of chapter-3 content and post them online (possibly youtube).
2. hold live Q&A sessions via video conference.
3. answer your questions via the reading questions form
I am researching screen recording and pen-based whiteboard software to record my lectures. Give me a few days to find stuff I like and practice my lectures.  :)
Until then, please read the rest of 3.3, what derivatives tell us about the shape of a graph, including reading about curvature, inflection points, and the 2nd Derivative Test. Please post your questions via the Q&A form on the main calculus page and I will answer them daily.
Expect the first online lecture to be available on Monday.
I will also start putting together the chapter 9 practice test and grade your chapter 5 tests.
