Pre-Test Reflection Due Mon 10/8

posted Sep 27, 2018, 1:29 PM by Nikhil Joshi   [ updated Oct 4, 2018, 1:43 PM ]

Your reflection for your pre-test is due on Friday 10/8. You will submit the reflection using Trello.

In order to submit your test reflection do the following right away:

  1. Create a Trello account if you don't already have one. Please use my recommendation link to sign up for Trello, as it will give me some extra features if enough students sign up.
  2. After creating your account join my Classes and Clubs Team
  3. You should then see the boards associated with my classes. Add yourself to the calculus board.

The reflection exercise is attached below and includes the procedure for turning in the reflection via Trello.

Calc Unit One Pagers

posted Sep 27, 2018, 8:09 AM by Nikhil Joshi   [ updated Sep 27, 2018, 8:09 AM ]

To clarify - my suggestion for doing one-pagers in AP Calc is merely that - a suggestion, and not required in any way for a points or a grade.

I think it's worth your time to pick one or more units from chapter 1, read it closely and generate your one pager as a way to focus on the content. Then use the one-pager to study. If it helps, keep doing it and use it as learning tool. If it doesn't help, find something else that will help you learn, and especially, help you engage and closely read the textbook.

I think doing this on a regular basis to build a library which you can use to study for the test at the end of the year would be valuable. In the end, it's up to you to decide if this will be a productive way for you to learn and study.

The sample document I showed in class is attached below.

Summer HW Assignment Update

posted Aug 6, 2018, 8:28 AM by Nikhil Joshi

Hi Everyone,

If you're a new student who is just now logging in for the summer assignment, you may not see it for at least a week. Because of the way Khan Academy works, I have to log in and assign the exercises to students who have newly joined the class. I will be out of town this week with spotty internet access until Sunday. So keep checking every day in case I managed to log in and update the assignments.

Recommended Summer Homework

posted Jul 6, 2018, 12:12 PM by Nikhil Joshi

I have posted the recommended summer homework. Although the homework isn't required and won't be turned in for a grade, I highly recommend you do it. It provides a review of the most important algebra and pre-calculus topics for AP Calculus. The goal is for you to review what you've already learned and to stay sharp over the summer so you are ready for AP calculus on day 1. There will be a test on this review material on the first or second day of class so the homework is designed to help you get ready for that pre-test.
